Re-skilling in Food Production

Local and National Policymakers, Teagasc, NUIG, GMIT

There needs to be a large scale re-skilling in all aspects local food production. Existing farmers (large and small scale) and people from non-farming backgrounds need to get various levels of training in a wide range of skills in a variety of courses so that there is enough full time and part time local food producers. Commercial skills as well as horticultural skills need to be taught. NUIG, GMIT and Teagasc would deliver short and long courses championing sustainable food.
